Excitement is building for the purchase of the 1904 home of F.O. and Flora Stanley as The Historic Stanley Home Foundation Capital Campaign experienced an important turning point in the month of September. Led by the receipt of two lead gifts, the Campaign has now received gifts and pledges in excess of $1,300,000, which is 67% of our goal!
Campaign volunteers are confident this number will grow significantly by the end of this year, at which time the campaign must conclude. Now is the time for all who want to see the Stanley Home saved and preserved to join over 300 donors who have already recognized not only the importance of accomplishing this mission, but understanding that only a collective community effort will allow the home to be saved through financial gifts.
Supporting this campaign to save the Home can be done by either providing a cash gift or if preferred, providing a risk-free pledge that would only be paid when the home is purchased. Further, pledges can be paid over a period of time with an initial payment followed by one or two additional annual installments. By donating now, you will become a Charter Member of the Foundation, which is accorded to all donors of the Capital Campaign. We look forward to seeing the names of all donors on a Donor Wall, which rightfully will honor all who took action to see this mission completed.
While the Board of Directors, our Campaign Steering Committee, and campaign volunteers look forward to completing the task of finishing the last one-third of the campaign, there is much work to do and all must assume that their gift will join in making certain that the effort succeeds.
While we must focus on securing the resources, further progress will necessitate that volunteers begin preparation for the first season of operation of the Stanley Home Museum and Education Center in the summer of 2020. This is a very exciting time for the board as our volunteers and supporters consider the many volunteer tasks that need to occur after the home is purchased.
This is a call to action. This mission is very likely to be the one and only opportunity for the Stanley Home to be saved, because if not done now, it probably will never occur. Please don’t delay.
